The Environmental Health Specialist is responsible for inspecting residential, commercial and industrial property for compliance with all City health and applicable ordinances.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 30 semester hours combined in the following fields: Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Physical Science, Food Technology, Environmental Engineering or other related science.

Texas Class C driver's license.

Must register and pass the Professional Sanitarians exam through Texas Department of State Health Services within one year of employment.

Must obtain Professional Sanitarian registration through Texas Department of State Health Services within two years of employment.
