Research & Development Commercialization Manager



Praters is seeking a Research and Development-Commercialization Manager

Praters, a well established food manufacturing company, is seeking a R&D - Commercialization Manager that can effectively manage, coordinate and direct the organization's day to day R&D program.

Key Responsibilities:
--Manage all aspects of product development for a USDA/FDA facility from concept to Plant launch.
--Source and manage ingredients, flavors, packaging and equipment for new products and/or improvements in existing processes.
--Develops strategy and sets policy and procedures to support successful product launches.
--Participates in cross functional teams within manufacturing and retail to develop strategies supporting market growth
--Oversee monitoring, verification and validation activities to ensure that all developed products leaving the facility meet the facility Food Safety and Quality Plans
--Provide guidance and leadership to the manufacturing staff and Executive Team
--Releases SQF plan(s) when ever there is a change of program, procedure, ingredient, equipment, industry philosophy, technology, etc
--Provide input into design and direction of good manufacturing procedures
--Report the daily, weekly and monthly data information as needed to maintain corrective actions and process control
--Responsible for generation of the reports and publication of data to company associates
--Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel in the organization and promote the pursuit of continuous improvements

Key Requirements:
--BS or MS Degree in a related field and at least 3-5 years experience in food manufacturing
--Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
--Self-motivated, flexible and able to prioritize and respond to changing needs of the business
--Advanced knowledge with HAACP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, SQF and other state weights and measures requirements
--Knowledge of food handling and storage is a plus
--Advanced working knowledge and compliance with Industry, EEOC and Employment Laws
--Degree in Engineering, Food Sciences, Microbiology or related field
--Proven track record
--Ability to effectively communicate with regulatory offices, customers, partners, team members and management
