The Texas Department of State Health Services is pleased to announce the launch of a Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) web page to assist Texas’ foods-based industries in locating the resources needed to navigate the new regulations promulgated under the federal FSMA.  Please visit our new website at http://dshs.texas.gov/foods/default.aspx and select Food Safety Modernization Act from the list on the left hand side of the home page to view the new pages.

In addition, DSHS will be sponsoring Preventive Control for Human Food training which is based on the FDA recognized Food Safety Preventive Control Alliance curriculum.   This DSHS-sponsored training meets the training requirements for a Preventive Control Qualified Individual.   The DSHS training schedule is posted on the FSMA Training page (http://dshs.texas.gov/foods/fsma/Training.aspx).

We recommend you sign up for “alerts” on the pages you are interested in (i.e. preventive control, training, etc.).  You must sign up on each page of interest to you.   When updates are made to that specific page you will receive an email.  The alerts sign-up button is located in the upper right hand corner of each page.

If you have any comments or questions, please visit our FSMA Questions page (http://dshs.texas.gov/foods/fsma/FSMA-Questions.aspx) for more information on how to contact us.

This service is provided to you at no charge by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
