South Texas Chapter
DirectorySouth Texas Governing Council News

Greetings from the South Texas Chapter Council,

In typical South Texas style we are finishing the year with a flurry of activity.  The 16th Annual Educational conference which occurred on December 3 - 6, 2019 was a resounding success.  Thanks not only to our TEHA-STC members for all of your support but to all the South Texas Chapter board members who worked tirelessly to make it all happen.

TEHA-South Texas Chapter, along with Be the Match, would once again like to thank everyone that participated in the toy drive at the Annual TEHA-STC Educational Conference.  Toys were delivered before Christmas to kids at the Children Cancer and Blood Center and the Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio as well as the Vannie E. Cook Children Cancer and Hematology Clinic in McAllen.  A special thanks once again goes to Ex-officio Edgar Cruz for spearheading this effort.  TEHA-STC looks forward to continued cooperation with Be the Match to bring happiness and hope to those children served by this wonderful organization.

With the end of 2019 in sight comes the exciting prospects of 2020.  We are already discussing plans for upcoming training as well as brainstorming on ideas to make our next Annual Educational Conference even bigger and better.  TEHA-STC strives to make continuing education available to everyone and in that effort offers the J. Victor Baldovinos Scholarship, which includes the conference registration fee for our Annual Educational Conference.  For those Interested please contact the council if you would like information on the J. Victor Baldovinos Scholarship.

TEHA-STC works hard to provide the best training possible and are always looking for speakers of top quality.  If you are interested in being a speaker at any of our events please feel free to contact any of our board members to express your desire.  As an added bonus, you will be eligible to receive free CEU’s for the day you speak.

TEHA-STC stands in solidarity with the mother chapter to make the Texas Environmental Health Association the best association of its kind in the nation and will continue in the concerted effort to make TEHA second to none.
